Sweet and Savory Nectarine Galette
Print Recipe
Ingredients
Make a quick open-faced pie with nectarines, peaches or plums from Chile. It’s the perfect size for 4-6 people who would appreciate a little bite of something sweet.
Ingredients:
1 pie crust (we used store bought)
4-6 tbsp apricot jam
Optional: ½ cup soft cheese like Boursin or brie
2-4 ripe Chilean nectarines, peaches or plums, thinly sliced (you need enough fruit to line the pie crust so the number of fruit will vary depending on how large they are)
1 tbsp heavy cream
Optional:
Fresh herbs (such as thyme or basil), finely chopped
Drizzle with honey before serving
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (or follow the directions on store bought pie crust)
- Roll out the pastry onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the jam and if using cheese, evenly distribute over the pie crust.
- Arrange the nectarine slices over the herbs, slightly overlapping them.
- Fold the edges of the dough up around the filling, leaving the center open.
- Brush the exposed dough with cream using a pastry brush.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is lightly golden.
- Optional: Drizzle with a little honey for an extra touch of sweetness. If you add the cheese, it is complimented by a little touch of herbs too.
