1 cup pitted Chilean cherries (frozen if possible)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1/2 cup ice
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon dark chocolate chips, optional


1. In a blender, add cherries, protein powder, flaxseed, almond extract, coconut milk and ice. Pulse; then blend on slow so smoothie stays thick. Add a little more liquid or ice as needed.
2. Pour half of the smoothie into a glass. Then add a little more ice, cocoa powder, and dark chocolate chips to the blender and pulse again. Pour the chocolate part of the smoothie on top of the cherry.  If you want the layers the other way around, just reverse!   Enjoy this delicious Chocolate Cherry Smoothie immediately.
